– Always position the chisel parallel with laminations, otherwise you may blunt the cutting end or gouge the laminations.

– Try not to hit the stator housing after cutting the last wires or you may break or damage the cutting end.

– When using an air hammer, don’t press the trigger unless the chisel is pressing against the coil. Otherwise you could break the chisel shank. Properly used shanks should never break.

– Never mark a chisel by grinding groves in the shank as this weakens it and may cause breakage. Use a stick-on label for marking.

– Oil every day before use with air tool or equivalent.
