The diffuse-reflective photoelectric sensor has transmitter and receiver integrated within the same housing, similar to the retroreflective photoelectric sensor. As opposed to retroreflective photoelectric sensors, this one does not require a reflector. An object’s light reflection is evaluated by the sensor. When an object reflects a light beam, the sensor’s output is connected to the receiver. Scanning distances are specified for a standard object with 90% re-emission (white paper). A diffuse-reflective photoelectric sensor with background fade-out only reacts to objects that are at a different, varying distance from it. The rest of the objects are ignored.
