The Simpson Strong-Tie CBH™ concealed beam hanger is specifically designed for such applications, and is installed with readily available Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws. The CBH has been tested for inter-story drift and has achieved 1-hr and 2-hr fire resistance ratings according to ASTM E119.
