Compact and well priced, the UNI-T UT133A is a great all round multimeter. It measures DC and AC currents and voltages. It can also measure resistance and capacity, has a diode and continuity tester and an NCV function. This model has a 6000 count display that is more than enough for most basic applications. It is equipped with an over-current and over-voltage alarm that sounds an alarm noise when the current or the voltage is too high. An automatic standby mode saves battery life. This can be deactivated though. Furthermore it is capable of surviving a 2 meter fall.
Pros:
- Quick and accurate capacitance measuring
- Ideal for basic measurements
Cons:
- AC precision is limited
- Missing some more advanced features
